Expected Dungeons Exclusive in Catacylysm

Excitement and anticipation is surely felt by WoW games worldwide because of Blizzard’s newest expansion update on the game namely Catacylysm. Since its BlizzCon interview in September, millions of WoW gamers and enthusiasts had been checking on their site for probable catacylysm updates, strategies and new areas. It seems that we can not wait until 2010 for this kind of exciting expansion taking world of Azeroth a step higher.

Blizzard tries to update their Catacylysm page with related facts and screenshots on what to expect and what one might see. These eventually are mouth watering for gamers because the screenshots alone are well made and inviting. Along with its recent WoW updates, they had announced that there are new dungeons and locations. All in all there would be eight five-man dungeons and two heroic versions of the old-world.

•    Abyssal Maw: Two 5-man dungeons. This is the entrance to the Water’s Elemental Plane and the abode of the water elementals as well like coral, lesser deep and befouled water. Its entrance is a massive whirlpool outside the Sunken City of Vashj’ir that gamers must jump into. The makers had used a new water tech expansion that players would want to look out the windows and see the ocean floor outside. It has a neat water-filled elevator in the middle and its elementals can do frost damages like frost nova.

•    Uldum: The 5-man dungeons. This is the secret desert Titan outpost residing somewhere in the southwest of Tanaris. This is where two 5-man dungeons are housed namely the Halls of Origination and the Lost City of Tol’vir. The former area is similar to Ulduar in Egypy containing pyramids, wall hieroglyphics, Egyptian motif and impressive architecture. It was believed that a super-weapon is hidden in the Halls which everyone is eyeing on. The said hall confirmed that there are seven bosses inside. The Lost City on the other hand is a huge open air area and home to the Tol’vir which is considered the “stone cat people”.

•    Blackrock Caverns: One 5-man dungeon. The aesthetics are similar to Blackrock Spire with new arts and assets. This is a new area of Blackrock Mountain taken by Twilight’s Hammer Cult. Deathwing has drilled a hole into its mountain going to Grim Batol. You might want to check this one out and maybe a beast with knock back ability would be back.

•    Grim Batol. One 5-man dungeon. This is the new home of Deathwing the Destroyer. This area is the old dwarven monopoly where the Dragonflights used to shelter their eggs. With Deathwing now on it, it would be replaced with a whole new era of powerful dragonflight. It contains four different bosses in its grim environment and hostile atmosphere.

All New News and More

wow cataclysm logo All New News and More •    Official Cataclysm Forums Open - The official WoW forums had another section added to them last week, one dedicated to the upcoming expansion. There are already a lot of great discussions going on in this new section, but not a lot of additional firm details from anyone at Blizzard just yet. This will, however, we will likely see bits of information leaked and hinted at over the course of the coming months. You should go on over and check it out.

•    Paid Faction Changes Now Live - Well, this past weeks we’ve seen some pretty significant WoW-related news, but none quite as significant as this piece! The faction change service for WoW is now available! Yep, that’s right, players will now be able to switch their characters from Horde to Alliance or vice versa. In addition to this it seems you can change other things about your character in the process including name and gender, so you get more bang for your 30 bucks. So, if you’re interested in this new paid service you can visit your account management page and take advantage of it, but please be sure to read the FAQ first as there are some mount and reputation restrictions you will want to be aware of before making the big switch!

•    Race Changes Confirmed – The possibility of changing your character’s race within it’s existing faction was eluded to during BlizzCon and seemed to be a definite per their own FAQ about paid faction changes. Now, it has been confirmed by Blizzard poster, Neth in an official forum thread that the ability to change your character’s race will be arriving soon. With the talk of racial abilities being re-vamped for the new expansion most race changes will likely happen to get better racials for your character’s class from a different race. We will see how this one goes, but with paid faction changes already in place this one doesn’t surprise me at all. Can anyone say mo money?

•    For the Horde Gets a World First - The heroic versions of Trial of the Crusader went live some weeks ago and it took no time at all for some top guilds to venture into the more challenging versions of the raid encounter. Very soon after these encounters went live European guild For the Horde claimed the world first A Tribute to Insanity-10 which is a no wipe full clear of the instance on 10 man mode. According to their website they weren’t even trying for the achievement until they had made it all the way to Anub’arak with no wipes and then decided to go for it. Congrats to For the Horde!
